CASE / HARTWALL ARENA

The restaurants of Restel’s Food&Events chain were renovated completely during spring and summer 2020.

First Lounge

First Lounge is a brand new restaurant located to the right of the main entrance to Hartwall Arena intended only for box customers. A modern masterpiece decorated with stylish furniture and luminaires of the highest quality, combining marble, black and several shades of grey, light-coloured wood and brass.

The Cave

The Cave, a 220-seat bar-restaurant built into the rock, accommodates events and private celebrations. When the team Jokerit plays, The Cave functions as the Mörköluola ice hockey view restaurant. The atmosphere is created by leather, cement surfaces, and rusty copper. In the premises, there is a unique luminaire designed by the architect and TRB and manufactured in Nastola; it draws its inspiration from the Middle Ages and cartwheels. Old chairs from the customer’s Golden restaurant have been recycled to serve the customers of The Cave.

Lanson Lounge

A 140-seat a la carte champagne restaurant with marble and copper tones prevailing in the interior decoration. The restaurant offers a perfect view to the ice arena.

Platinum Lounge

Serves events and is available for order. Up to 600 people can dine at a time in the restaurant, which is located on the lower stand level, at the heart of the arena’s entertainment and shows. The mood in the premises can be changed by illuminating the curtains with lights of different colour, which allows adapting the space for different occasions, everything from Disney fairy tales to a compelling and strong Rock Fest experience.

Warabino

A straightforward sushi restaurant making use of the customer’s old black furniture, where bonsai-decorated luminaires from Innolux, Airam, and Globen Lighting create the atmosphere.

Golden Star

The largest of the restaurants with more than 2,000 seats, dominated by light oak and an eye-catching 32-metre bar counter with LED lights to serve even the thirstiest of customers. The stunning, colour-changing LED crowns designed by the architect and ordered by TRB from RoutaLED form a line above the bar counter. The furniture is rich in oak and Scandinavian design.

In co-operation with Restel and the interior design company dSign, TRB participated in renovation of the Restaurant World at the Hartwall Arena. TRB’s role in the project involved the budgeting, procurement, storage, recycling, and disposal of old non-fixed furniture of six different restaurants, as well as coordination of installations and project management.

The exceptional spring and summer of 2020, as well as various schedules and materials-related challenges contributed to the unique qualities of the project. Regardless of this, we managed not to exceed the furniture budget provided without compromising on the visual appearance and completed the restaurants on schedule. We also managed to utilise the customer’s old furniture and, where required, modify it to suit the renovated premises.

Pia, our Project Manager, was fascinated by the possibility of full control from start to finish. It was great to be involved in the project together with the unbelievably nice contractor teams, Arena’s personnel, Restel’s liaisons, and Jedx’s skilled installation team capable of performing miracles. The “look and feel” that served as the theme of the renovation was complied with in all aspects.
